Julie Chen Moonves, who was among the first hosts and moderators of The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winner talk show) She returned on to host The Talk on August 5th for its 22nd season. She was a writer before she became a host. Her love of writing was for the written word. In fact, it earned the show an Emmy. Also, she was awarded the Emmy for hosting, and an award-winning comedy talk show. Before entering CBS News from 1995 Chen Moonves had been an anchor and reporter for WDTN TV Dayton. When she was finishing her last academic year at the university, she worked as an assistant for ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and served as the director of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news program). Her first job was as an assistant at ABC News, working on the late-night news program Nightline alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains among Moonves' journalistic heroes. Chen Moonves, who won Columbia du-Pont for the primetime Anatomy of a Riot special in 1992, which focused on the Los Angeles riots, worked with Koppel.
